Meeting the Wall
Sometimes, with those closest to us, we meet a wall of energy. No words, just the silent force of back off, leave me alone.
In moments like these, fear rises. Will I be rejected? Will I lose the connection I long for? And yet, love often rises too. I want to soften, to reach out, to hold.
Both are true. Both are alive in the same breath.
Sitting in the Fire
Years ago, a teacher told me this tension is like “sitting in the fire.” It takes awareness, courage, and willingness to stay present — to hold fear and love together without running, fixing, or shutting down.
Ram Dass said it another way: invite your demons to tea. Allow fear to be here. Sit with it. Listen.
Strength Redefined
Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth.
– Pema Chödrön
For much of my life, I thought strength meant holding it all together — bracing, surviving. But strength, I’ve learned, is softer. Strength is staying present to what is here, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Strength is choosing to let love lead, even when fear is humming underneath.
Sacred Closing
Place a hand over your heart. Whisper softly:
Fear is here. Love is here. Both are welcome. I choose to lean into love.
