Let It Be

Words of wisdom.

Knowing that the fresh air would soothe my aching heart, I decided to walk, rather than drive, to Juno’s home. We were meeting for lunch and, as always, a soulful conversation.

The recent upheaval in our government had both of us locked in relentless, unbearable fear. I needed nothing more than to fall into the arms of my good friend and have the opportunity to speak openly about our concerns in a truthful and sacred way.

Upon arrival, Juno offered a warm, welcoming hug and a steaming mug of Darjeeling tea sweetened with honey. I sat and quietly sipped the aromatic brew, relaxing in the safety of her home and our friendship.

Being the gracious and generous host that she is, Juno offered a simple fare of toasted cheese sandwiches and yummy steamed broccoli and carrots—perfect for such an occasion.

We sat, sipping tea and munching, slowly speaking of our mutual fear. Initially, feeling hopeless and helpless, we expressed anger and rage accompanied by rivers of tears. The pandora’s box was open, and there was no turning back.

As we let it all flow, a beautiful thing happened– the room came alive with a soft golden glow. The air was now charged with the magic that comes to pass when we see and speak from the Eye of the Heart.

The heart knows the way.

Having taken the time to express the fears that kept our hearts in so much pain allowed for wide-open spaciousness and deep inner rest. We could release the monkey mind and all the what-ifing, freeing ourselves from the panic and anxiety that was holding us hostage. Clarity returned, our hearts opened as we surrendered and let it be.

Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction.

Our deepest desire is to avail ourselves in hopes of expelling the madness.  What and how this can be done is not yet clear, but we know that the answers will come in time if we simply listen to our hearts and trust.

Waiting is challenging, I am not known for my patience. But by remembering that this path, though difficult and threatening, is sacred and holy, I surrender and listen to my soul’s voice.

Big She gently encourages us to surrender and to follow our hearts. Just let it be.
